Unfortunately, the old Flextoon petition seems to be broken and no longer functioning. For weeks now folks have been getting error messages when signing it. I’m not sure how long this has been happening since the issues were brought to my attention by Jim on Sodor Island Forums. It’s a fair blow given the old petitions 393 views to have to start over.

The good news is the old signatures are downloaded and I will subtract them from the amount needed and we’ll move forward with a new one using the same petition platform the current Thomas and the Magic Railroad Director’s cut petition uses which are more proactive since it does not just passively collect signatures. It also automatically emails the parties in power for the person who signs service as a combination signature/ email petition. I also encourage fans to write letters expressing their desire to have Shining Time Station released on DVD. I personally consider Shining Time invaluable to Railroad Preservation and that long give it merit to be brought back to public attention with a DVD release for starters.

The old Flextoon petition will remain available on Shining Time Stations petition page http://restorethemagic.org/shining-time-on-dvd-petition/ perhaps it will fix itself.

BTW the person who is the 393 signature on the new petition will win a copy of the book “Steam, Steel, and Stars: America’s Last Steam Railroad”. Yes this is a used book that as it is out of print but its on of the best books out there full of O’Winston Link’s finest photographic work documenting the final hours of steam on the Norfolk and Western Railway. A must have for any railfan.
